With the craziness that is 2020 slowly coming to an end, what better way to celebrate than with a pint, some grub and a socially distanced catch up at the best pubs in Surrey? If you are really feeling festive, you can even make an event of it and try to visit all 12 – you just might have to double down a couple of days!

1. The Abinger Hatch
This independent British country pub in the Surrey Hills can be found opposite the beautiful St James Church and lush Abinger Common. Alongside classic pub fare, burgers and pizza, this pub also offers a Gluten Free and a Dairy Free menu. With a menu based around the modern British barbeque, charred meat is definitely the name of the game here and with two custom built 2000 gallon offset smoker, the White Hart is a meat lovers dream destination.

3. Queens Head
A historic Dorking pub perfect for those winter days whether you want to be inside by the roaring fireplace or in the winter garden with their very own festive tipis – there’s a cosy spot for everyone. This is a truly magical spot for a catch up with your nearest and dearest!

4. The Merry Harriers
With options for delicious food and drink, cosy accommodation and Llama trekking (yes, you heard us right!) The Merry Harriers definitely lives up to it’s merry name!
The menu is filled with pub favourites and the space feels like a home away from home – well worth a visit for an afternoon or evening.

5. The Anchor
A pub with a view, The anchor can be found hiding on the banks of the Wey Navigation. It has everything you need for a winter tipple including roaring log fires and an oak beamed conservatory. 6. The Weyside

7. The Bear
This 16th century pub is your quintessential country pub that sees itself as a home away from home for the Cobham, Oxshott and Leatherhead community. 11. The Penny Black
With a festoon-lit stretch tent outside, and a warm and inviting atmosphere inside, the Penny Black Pub is the perfect spot to end a busy day in Leatherhead. Another winner in our books for its waterside location, The Weir is a classic victorian pub that sits on the banks of the river Thames.
Want to pop out but can’t leave the pooch? The Weir Hotel have you covered with dog loving staff, healthy dog biscuits behind the bar and a beautiful stroll down the towpath to stretch the legs sees you to the magnificent gates of Hampton Court Palace.
