Time to Talk: Tackling Loneliness by Taking Time

Loneliness can affect us all at some point. For some it’s fleeting, but for others it can persist, especially during major life changes or due to health challenges. Time to Talk is a befriending service in Surrey Heath dedicated to reducing loneliness and social isolation by connecting volunteer befrienders with people who need companionship.

A befriender offers regular contact, a listening ear, and something to look forward to each week. These supportive relationships help individuals feel valued, heard, and connected to their community.

Become a befriender

Giving just one hour a week can make a meaningful difference. No formal qualifications are needed to become a befriender — only kindness, empathy, and a willingness to listen. Full training and ongoing support are provided.
