The Grange Centre provides vital services supporting people with learning and/or physical disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Their goals and aspirations shape everything we do.
Alongside the people we support, we run ‘Shop No 5’ in Bookham and an online store selling Grange Made goods. Here we run workshops where our adults make items for sale, as well as training in running a shop and monetary skills.
In our onsite working café and professional kitchen, the People We Support gain hospitality and catering training through a working café open to the public and catering for in-house events. We use produce grown onsite in our catering and popular chutneys. Fruit, vegetables and flowers are sold in the garden shop daily
The Grange presents a number of fundraising events throughout the year, including regular Afternoon Tea in our Victorian Conservatory, Craft Fairs and Bridge events and we have a variety of rooms suitable for hire, either for meetings or larger events and our in-house kitchen offers flexible and healthy catering options.
Our unique 8-acre site, located in the Surrey countryside offers high quality housing for 43 people with ‘Supported Living’ in their own flat or bedsit and 16 people in ‘Group Living’. We also have accommodation off-site for 23 people and we support 9 in their own homes.
Our support team encourages social and sporting activities either at The Grange or in the wider community and they help develop day to day living skills, assisting each individual to set and achieve personal goals.
In ‘Group Living’ we have 24/7 care and support. Many of our adults gain the skills and confidence to take on more independence and move from ‘Group’ into ‘Supported Living’.
We run a ‘Skills for Life’ programme which supports 119 adults. This programme builds confidence and practical skills for daily living, work or volunteering. The sessions include person-centred workshops in pottery, embroidery, woodwork, horticulture, and catering. These are run by tutors from professional backgrounds who are also trained at The Grange to deliver these evolving and individualised, small group sessions.
