Manor House School

To Love is to Live

Manor House School, Bookham is an independent (private) girls’ school in the Surrey Hills area, with a nursery school for boys and girls, near Leatherhead, in the village of Bookham. Manor House School was established in 1920 and has been providing an independent education to Surrey families for over 100 years. As a day school opening at 7.45am and finishing at 6.00pm, many of our pupils travel from the local villages of Ashtead, Bookham, Cobham, Dorking, Effingham, Fetcham, East and West Horsley and nearby Surrey Hills villages. However, we have many girls who travel on our minibus routes from Esher, Kingston, Merrow, Surbiton and Wimbledon.

Manor House School, Bookham is a through school. This means that girls can join us as early as Nursery School aged 2,  and then join our Prep School in Surrey at age 4-11 years old. From there, most girls move into our Senior School for girls at age 11+. Our Senior School finishes at Year 11, when students leave at age 16 to take up places at their future sixth forms. However, pupils may join us at any entry year, subject to the availability of school places.

Our Headteacher, Tracey Fantham BA (Hons) MA NPQH, has led Manor House School since September 2016 and has a teaching background in Physical Education and Psychology. Ms Fantham has worked on leadership teams of successful schools in Surrey, both as Assistant/Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher, developing teaching and learning and quality pastoral care. Ms Fantham works as part of an Apple global community of education leaders who share expertise on integrating technology into learning environments with other educators and policy makers.

Ms Fantham has a passion for sport, championing participation and sporting excellence and is a keen triathlete. To this end, she is also a Youth Sport Trust Headteacher Ambassador and represents South Central on the GSA (Girls’ Schools Association) Sports Committee.
