Mandira’s Kitchen Celebrates Mothers Day

Mothering Sunday on 30 March will fall at a still uncertain time.  As we look forward to the date now, its almost impossible to plan, not knowing if lockdown will have lifted and if we will be able to meet up with our mothers to celebrate the day.  There are, however, many family groups living with mum who will want to celebrate, and everyone’s new-found dexterity with Zoom and Facetime that will ensure families can be together virtually.

For those who want to plan ahead, Mandira’s Kitchen has put together a delicious Indian Afternoon Tea, with extra chocolate treats for Mum.  For those looking for gifts, you can add a tea pot or authentic chai glass to give the occasion real authenticity.  There is also an Indian Banquet (each one for 2 people) to ensure Mum doesn’t cook on her special day.

The Special Mother’s Day afternoon tea includes Chicken or Vegetable croquettes, the famous Mandira’s Kitchen samosas, spiced cheese scones with mango cream cheese, and Garam masala cake with chai tea filling and mini spiced chocolate samosas – to name just a few of dishes.

Mandira Sarkar, owner and founder of Mandira’s Kitchen says: “This Mother’s Day we want people to travel with us to a bygone era – my childhood amongst emerald tea bushes and blazing bougainvillea for the most amazing afternoon tea with an Indian twist. The menu reflects a gentler time and an unhurried pace – in this menu are a few of my favourites which I hope will also become yours and help you celebrate with mum.”

Of course, we will provide alternatives for those with a dietary restriction and the price includes tea for two delivered to any UK mainland address.  There is an option of adding our beautiful hand painted kettles and 4 authentic chai glasses as a gift to be used again and again. We are determined at Mandira’s Kitchen to create a special occasion for Mother’s Day whatever restrictions are in place at the time.”

In addition to the afternoon tea, why not treat Mum to a special Indian Banquet which includes a selection of samosas; Chicken Rezala / Paneer Butter Masala; Cashew and Cranberry Pulao; Alu Gobi; Dal Makhani; Naan Bread; Spiced Crackers; Tomato and Date Chutney; Mango and Cardamom Gelato; Chai and some free heart shaped chilli chocolates – all for £50 including delivery. Mandira’s Kitchen has also teamed up with Albury Organic Vineyard and Silent Pool Distillers to give you the option of adding wine or gin to your order.

All items can be ordered online from www.mandiraskitchen.com  and either collected from Mandira’s Kitchen at The Silent Pool Guildford or delivered to any UK Mainland address.

NB: dishes may vary from those shown in the afternoon tea images.
